ABOUT ME
Johanna Rogalla
Menstrual Cycle Coach & Physiotherapist
Hi! I’m Johanna and I’m a physiotherapist and menstrual cycle coach, originally from Germany, raised in China and now living in the Netherlands. I’ve always been interested in health and wellbeing and in how we can become the best version of ourselves, both physically and mentally. Nutrition, movement, lifestyle and personal growth have always been a big part of my own life.
As a physiotherapist, I love helping people understand their bodies and feel better through movement. But what about everything else? There is so much more that influences our health than how we move. Nutrition, stress, sleep, hormones and our mental and emotional wellbeing all play a role too. I felt that there was a whole side of health missing.
My journey into menstrual health, however, started with something much more personal. From a young age, I struggled with painful periods. Like many women I assumed it was a normal part of being a woman. Painkillers and hormonal contraception were offered as solutions, so I tried different forms of hormonal birth control . But instead of feeling more connected to my body, I often felt the opposite. I wanted to understand what was actually happening in my body and why I was experiencing the symptoms I was.
So, I started looking for a different approach. I began learning about my cycle, hormones and natural fertility awareness. The more I learned, the more fascinated I became by how much our cycles can tell us about our health and wellbeing. And that’s what lead me here.
Learning to understand my own cycle helped me improve my symptoms and completely changed the way I relate to myself. Back in the days I felt like being a woman was a burden, but now I have a sense of trust and connection that I hadn't had before. I often wonder why something so integral to women's health is barely taught to us.
That’s what led me to create Inner Tide: a space where I can bring together my background in physiotherapy with my passion for menstrual and hormonal health.
My approach is open-minded, empathetic and holistic. Rather than simply looking at a symptom, I want to understand the person behind it and help you find an approach and solutions that are right for you.
